Abstract
This paper expounds some ways to teach college English writing from the perspective of the
theory of humanistic psychology. Hierarchy of needs theory is put forward by American humanistic
psychologist Maslow. It is an important theory in the development of humanistic psychology. Applying
this theory to college English writing teaching can stimulate students’ interest in English writing and
improve their overall writing level.
